 Nihan Ulutan was born in
Ankara in 1999. She took up her first amateur piano lessons at the age of 8 during weekends. In 2009, she succeeded in Bilkent University entrance exams with full scholarship for piano She studied at Bilkent University with Professor Gamze Kirtil.

   The same year pianist performed solo recitals at various concert halls; Turkish Standardization Institute (TSE), Japanese Embassy and Modern Arts Center, She also appeared at a few major Turkish  TV channels; Kanal B and Ses TV.
In 2010, she got accepted in Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory and continued studying with Sanem Berkalp.  

   Nihan won the 3rd prize of the 2nd National Piano Competition hosted by Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory.
The Competition judges were,
İdil Biret, Selçuk Gündemir, Özgür Aydın, Ferhan Önder and Ferzan Önder.
 
Nihan's achievements continued, and she won the 1st prize of
5th International Competition by Baku's Music Academy, where she represented Turkey. She was the youngest winner of the competitors.

  She received reviews about her performance by the competition judges, and she was invited to perform at the Azerbaijan Television, that was broadcasted live.
During the same year, Nihan won another the 3rd prize at the 5th
International Piano Competition in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2023, she won the 2nd prize at the Clara Schumann Chambermusic Competition with the "Azalea Trio", of which she is the founder and pianist.

   Until 2019, Nihan continued to attended İdil Biret’s master classes. Throughout her piano education, Nihan also continued to study with Ayşegül Sarıca, Misha Dacic, Marek Drewnowski , Roland Batik , Stefan Mehlig, Pamela Mia Paul and others.
Additionally, she also join Joseph Paratore's master class at Salzburg Mozarteum Academy, and performed several concerts in 2015. During her education, she studied orchestral conducting with Christian von Gehren, composition with Hans Peter Reutter, singing with Katherina Woesner,chamber music with Hans Eijscakers, and jazz piano with Joshua Bredemeier.


   Between 2018 – 2020, she performed public concerts at Köln Yunus Emre Institute , Essen and Neuss for the mayor of Neuss city in Germany. Also she is frequently performing concerts at Düsseldorf Robert Schumann Hochschule. In 2020, she attended Beethoven 250th Anniversary Commemoration Festival in Missouri, USA with special invitation.In 2021 she invited to Mozart Piano Festival at the same organization. She made the first and only recording of a recently  discovered work by Robert Schumann. She recorded the piano works of Ahmet Adnan Saygun at the Studio of the Robert Schumann Academy in Düsseldorf. In 2022, she gave concerts as a soloist with the Symrna Youth Orchestra in İzmir and with the Agora Symphony Orchestra in Ankara. Together with Oğuzhan Akova, she gave concerts with the "İlk Adım" music group,which she founded.
 

   She has received outstanding reviews by music critics, and  interviewed by top notch magazines such as; Andante Music Magazine , Sabah Europe Newspaper, Başkent Newspaper and many more.

  In 2018, she got accepted in
Robert Schumann Musikhochschule Düsseldorf. She is currently studying with Paolo Giacometti.
